La Dolce Casa is nestled in the small town of Tamaqua, PA. It has a fair-sized menu. Pretty good pizza (not like you get in New York, though), but they do have some very good pasta dishes and heroes. I loved the steak salad (and they're not stingy with the steak!), made with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives (black green), onion, and feta cheese, with a nice dressing. Service, though, is a little slow

I didn't expect to find a good Italian restaurant outside of New York City, and at a small town at that. Call me a snob, but I've never found a place (yet) that comes close to what we have at home. But La Dolce Casa in the little town of Tamaqua (pop. 6,621) in Pennsylvania boasts of decent Italian fare. I've been there about 3 or 4 times, and have never been disappointed. Their portions are big city sized at small town prices - more bang for the buck! I've always ordered the chicken alfredo, have enjoyed it each time, but never manage to finish it - it's just too filling. And if you have room for dessert, try their tiramisu. It's the perfect way to end a wonderful meal.
